The A5 speaker is the smallest scion of the ADAM Studio Monitors and technically a smaller brother of the A7. The A5 monitor uses the same ADAM proprietary transducer technology (ART) and the same woofer consisting of a sandwich construction of carbon fiber and Rohacell, only reduced in size to 5". The built-in amplifiers with 2 x 25 W power control the drivers directly.

On the rear side, there is a panel with numerous possibilities to adapt the loudspeaker to the specific room acoustics or personal preferences. Also, the ADAM A5 features both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs to ensure connectivity to virtually any application in professional studios or at home. A useful special feature is the Stereo-link©, an exclusive technology of the A5: There are two additional in- and outputs for the second stereo channel which enable the user to adjust the volume of both loudspeakers with one control only.

The Fidelity is Amazing

I'm a sometimes speaker builder and a definite audio enthusiast and the tweeters and overall fidelity in these monitors really impress me. The A.R.T. tweeters deliver detail like you wouldn't believe, but never come across as harsh (unless what's being sent through them is harsh!). I've been a silk dome tweeter fan for years, but the A.R.T. tweeter system has made a believer out of me. I'm hearing more room "space" and subtlety than ever before. The woofers come across as clear and authoritative and can really "dig in" and get after it when hot percussion is sent down the line to them. Favorite music that is well recorded comes across terrifically! If someone made some errors in a mix, you will probably hear that as well. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed running all sorts of music through the A5s, because they really deliver the musical goods to my ears. A sub-woofer is available for the A5s, but it's not as necessary as you might believe, unless you dwell is the world of ultra-low bass. The Adam A5 Monitors exceed my expectations. They seem like "Truth Tellers".
