It now has a vastly improved capsule shockmount and switching. 1" diaphragm. 5 switchable polar patterns: omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, and figure 8. 2-color LEDs indicate polar pattern and output overload. 3 switchable bass cut filters and 3 pre-attenuation pads with LEDs for quick reference. 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range. Signal to noise ratio of 88dB, A-weighted. Ideal for accurate, beautifully detailed reproduction of any acoustic instrument. Includes H 85 professional shockmount/stand adapter, PF 80 external pop filter, W 414 X external windscreen, and flight case. Requires phantom power.

So I decided to rent one for a weekend to record a brand new Electro/RNB track and I must say, these are the best vocals I've recorded in my life. Just so you know, this mic has NO COLORATION which means that if you're looking for a mic with a distinct style, this one will not work. You have to EQ the mic after to get a great sound. See this is what happens with expensive pro gear, it's made so that the engineer crafts the sound instead of removing unwanted noise. This mic is great for tracking especially. You need little to no compression on it, it has an airy feel but rolls of the unwanted Esses so it's great. I Recommend it for RNB, maybe not for rock or for female vocals.

This mic has served me well. I record voiceovers with it and found it to have a nice fat sound if you want through proximity effect, very clear and transparent highs. It's built like a tank, very solid. I highly recommend it.
