This mic will pick up all of the subtle tonal qualities of cymbals and effects in either a studio or live setting. This is a killer mic!

I own four of these and use them exclusively for Overhead Drum Mics. This microphone catches the overheads perfectly, with a clean and crisp sound. I can also see these being used for room mics, since the frequency range is 20-20. Definately grab a pair of these for live and studio applications.

good for cymbals

Very good for overhead cymbals, but do not expect a very good overall kit sound from these mics. You will have to close-mic the toms and snare (and kick of course); but then you were going to do that anyway, I hope.
