The AKG C 535 EB microphone has the clean, open characteristics of AKG's best studio condenser mics, enhanced by a 2dB boost between 7 and 12kHz that projects vocals to the front of the mix. An integral 4-position switch tailors output level and bass roll-off for a variety of uses and situations. A sharp LF cut at the full output level reduces pops and handling noise for stage vocal use, and a more gradual roll off at reduced output is ideal for many instrument applications. Cardioid polar pattern. Frequency range: 20Hz to 20kHz. Requires 9 to 52V phantom power.

Great Mike

I have used this mike for two years now. I was looking for a mike that would put my vocals out in front of the music. A friend with a local sound company loaned me this AKG to try out in my next program. I never returned it. The only draw back in using as a hand held vocal is handling noise. Other than that I would recommend this for any live use.

I sing bass in a quartet and this is one of the best vocal mics for clear, low frequencies. I bought my first one in 1989 and I'm seriously thinking about buying a new one soon.

Not a vocal mic

This microphone should not be sold as a vocal mic but as a snare/hi-hat mic. I somehow ended up with two of these in my home recording studio and i heard good things about the vocals, i didn't agree. I plugged these in and sang into them and i didn't like the sound at all. I tried it for different things such as a guitar amp but it didnt seem to have much use. Then i heard that these would sound good on a snare and i needed a snare mic so i put one on the snare and the other on the hi hat and they make my drumset sound like a top quality drum recording, if you are looking for a snare/hi-hat mic, I definitely suggest this.

Snare drum

If you want a killer bright snare drum sound, get this mic. I was recording and the 57 broke, so I popped this on, and it sounds 10 times brighter and better and fuller.

Amazing Mic

An amazing microphone. I use it on my Vocals (low male) on Stage and in the Studio. Have not heard anything better. Also did studio recordings with female vocals. In comparison better than the Rode NT1A. The vocals are even more transparent with the AKG. I have my second one now. The first one lasted a little more than five years of massive Stage abuse. A new capsule and the Metal windscreen would have been too expensive to replace, so I bought a new one. Except for the high priced spare parts, I have no complaints.
