The Perception 120 is a general-purpose condenser microphone. Its 2/3" cardioid capsule delivers beautifully balanced response with excellent transients. It features AKG's design and logo style, True Condenser capsule technology, switchable 20 dB pre attenuation, and switchable bass-cut filter. The condenser is housed in a rugged die-cast chassis and dent-resistant stainless steel grille screen.

I bought this mic about one year ago, it was WAY better than the one I had before. It is a good vocal mic but for the acoustic guitar....so so. Good for the buck, but if you farther in your recording carrer dont get it.

This is a great entry-level mic. I use it all the time in my semi-pro studio. I've used it extensively to do vocals and acoustic guitar, and I've had very good luck with it. Mind you, it isn't going to sound like a C414 or a Neumann... there is a reason it doesn't cost $1000. But if a high end mic isn't in your budget, then you can't go wrong with a Perception. Even as your mic cabinet grows, you'll still call upon this as a good, reliable mic.

I recently bought 4 of these mics for a radio show and planed on buying higher priced mics for the recording studio. After hearing the quality of these mics....I bought 6 more!!!! These mics are great for the price and have a great sound. The only downfall is that it didnt come with a shock mount =p
