Have been looking for a decent pre-amp for a couple years now. Since all I have left from my full setup is the turntable. After reading reviews online and doing a lot of research, I decided to pick up this little gem. I was blown away! It sounds so good, it's amazing! You can switch capacitance depending on your cartridge type, and it makes the records sound even better then before. The auto line leveling is an amazing thing to hear, cutting out his without sacrificing quality!

This thing is unbelievable. For the price, it has lots of features - I haven't seen any preamp in this price range with gain adjustment or LF rolloff. The gain adjustment is superb and even provided enough boost to let me use a MC cartridge (although this is NOT designed for them). It also has a 100pf/200pf switch that (to my ears) does nothing - supposedly it adjusts input impedance. This little gem is built like a tank and has great sound with very little noise. It's nearly perfect. The only complaint I have is about the obnoxious blue LED light that illuminates my entire living room at night. What were they thinking?

This little pre-amp provides a wide range of amplification settings for an assortment of cartridges in your arsenal. If you do vinyl to digital transfers as much as I do with cartridges ranging from the new Shure M-44 to the old Stantons, you'll appreciate this amp's ability to accommodate the wide range of outputs of these cartridges. The response is remarkably flat. I've never had a pre-amp NOT color the different types of cartridges as well as this one DOES NOT. The rolloff switches are transparent too, and do not color the music. They can be swtiched in or out actively without "thumping" the audio. Whoever designed this little unit was thoughtful in that regard. The only complaint I have about it, is that it's power light is an annoyingly bright blue LED that practically acts as a nightlight for my studio. It's an extremely bright light that potentailly makes it hard to see your settings on the unit. I had to tape a piece of paper over it to throttle it back some, so I could see my settings.
