The ART MyMonitor works good. Absolutely no insertion losses that I can hear due to its pass-thru design. The pots have a nice quality feel to them. The battery compartment could stand the be larger - it is barely big enough to get the battery it. We bought this for our drummer/lead singer and it has helped him tremendously. My only complaint is in the sound quality coming out of the headphone jacks. We're using this with a Shure condenser headset which has a built-in preamp and a pretty good amount of gain. The signal from the mic will overdrive the MyMonitor when the drummer sings really loud. For speaking or lower level singing, the sound is awesome. What the unit needs is a trim pot on the gain. Of course that would add to the cost, but I would pay extra to get rid of the high level distortion. But, even with the distortion, we're keeping it anyway, because it has helped the drummer to hearing himself so much. There's nothing else out there in this price range that even comes close.

It is a very handy gadget, uses a power supply or a 9v battery, Must use TRS for stereo input if you want the music in stereo on headphones. Very useful... some mics may require a preamp.

Being a drummer and not needing wireless in ear monitors, this little amp is a perfect, inexpensive solution!
