The Art SLA 1 is a bit of a legend in the music community. When I bought mine, I heard alot of positive feedback from fellow musicians. I don't know about the studio setting, but I do use it to power my guitar rig.

This amp is lighter and smaller than I thought it would be, so it leaves plenty of free space in the rack. It has all the basics a power amp should have.

It sounds great! It is alot clearer than other power amps I've used. I've seen alot of guitarists go broke buying a $1,000+ poweramp...I must ask WHY?! This is one of those hidden jems few of us knew about.

Art is such a good company who believes in quality and customer care. I feel confident in this amp all the way.

I like this Amp a lot. I use it primarily to power studio monitors, and I must say it does the job much better than the last 2 Amps I've used. It's very quiet even with the fan (it appears to be a simple matter to disconnect it). The sound is very clean and uncolored. Slew rate is extremely fast in my opinion. It did better than I had hoped when I measured tones thruogh it, although i do think the highs were a little harsh when i referenced music through it at high volumes(but to be fair I've only put about 40 hrs on it so far, more "burn in" should temper this). In short I find this unit to be a Fast, clean, and punchy Amp. MUCH better than several inexpensive so called "reference class" amps I've had.

What a satisfying purchase! For the price, this amp is fantastic. Solid construction, pretty dang good sound, and good looks to round out the package. I'm extremely pleased with it.
