Don't waste your money

I bought this mixer to mix my keyboards and for a while it performed as expected. Within 6 mo. the effects started buzzing so I turned them off and just used it as a mixer. Fine. Then I started noticing that a light buzz from the shorted out effects section is creeping into the main mix. Unacceptable. Since it would cost more to fix than to buy a new Beringer to replace it, I bought the Beringer. Had it for a year, no problems. So as for Alesis, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Stops working under gentle use.

I bought the Alesis MultiMix 6FX Mixer to run our e drums into our bose system. It was only ever used at practice and also when I was practicing alone, I would run it into a small bass amp for my vocals and bass. It was treated gently and take well care of.

In less than a year of use it started going in and out. IT would work, then it wouldn't. Also, the power connnection is garbadge. It's one of those screw on deals. Problems is, is that over time, even with being gentle the screw on coupler breaks the connection into the mixer and the power cable is falling apart. In short is is a peice of junk and a waste of money.

Nice Little Mixer

I've had mine for almost 2 years now, and have had zero problems with it. The preamps are really nice and transparent and the effects are a nice addition. I needed a mixer to give me a little bit more control over my sound, I got that and a lot more. If I were to buy a mixer again though, I would buy something with enough inputs to mic a live drum kit. If you get serious about recording it's easy to outgrow this unit, but at the time of purchase I was strapped for cash/space.

Poor quality

Mine's going back to Alesis tomorrow. Channel 1 broke within 3 weeks of purchase. It was under warranty, but I couldn't send it off without buying a replacement. It's now 2 years older, and Channel 2 broke last weekend, so there are no usable mic inputs. I wanted to "upgrade" to get the effects, but my Behringer Eurorack, 3 years older, still works perfectly. Guess which brand I'm ordering now?
