I purchased these when I first started out. The Sound quality is amazing. I didn't have many distortion problems between recording with them vs what came out of the speakers. I work very often and after 2 months, they slowly fell apart piece by piece. THEY STILL WORK THO! So just keep duck tape handy.

For listening to music

I have a pair of these. They have a high sound quality, and are great for listening to your iPod. When it comes time to listen to your guitar, these are horrible. Every note is just drenched in muddy bass. It's not even just bassy, it's bassy with a horrible, cheesy sound. For listening to music, they're great. If you want to listen to your guitar, look elsewhere.

I've heard better, but the price was right.

These are loud, and sound pretty good at high or low volume. No noticeable distortion. The vocal range of the frequency spectrum comes across with the "styrofoam cup" effect. Very boxy in that respect. The lows are way low and the highs are the slightest bit hazy, but mostly crisp. First listening test was done with Flim and the BB's "Tricycle" for reference. Overall, I'm mildly impressed with the range and handling of these phones, but I've heard better from Sennheiser HD-280s. For a few more bucks, if you're a stickler for 'true sound', I'd go with them, but for the price, these phones make a good extra pair for live monitoring or home audio purchase.

Overpriced, frustrating

Bought this product and am sorry. For the same price I could have purchased much better headphones especially for the studio. They're heavy on the ears, have murky response, and -- most frustrating of all, have a chord that must be 3' long. This was just intensely frustrating as it gives you no mobility to record, or even at a console, even if you plug it in to a headphone box.

Mixes in the headphone also do not match at all what come out of the speakers.

i just purchased these from a local music store and have them hooked up to my iPod and they re-produce almost the entire vocal spectrum very well. I anticipate they will do very well on our DJ rig and after that I want to see how well they perform in a live sound environment, I am once again expecting a very good performance.
