The American Audio MX-1400 DSP DJ mixer is the ultimate mixing deck. This 14" rave/club mixer features 4 channels and DSP (digital signal processing) effects assignable to any channel including the mics! You can tweak-out your vocals or music from any source (CD/MP3/vinyl). Fine-tune the effects with the built-in Parameter Time and Depth adjustment knobs plus the TAP and Beat Ratio buttons.

The large blue LCD display shows the built-in BPM Analyser, what effects are being used, and the fine-tuning of the Parameter Time and Depth adjustment.

On the MX-1400 DSP mixer's recessed rear panel you'll find a master trim output (or master volume output); XLR outputs; and a digital (S/PDIF) output to record your gig or favorite mix. There is also a second set of XLR outputs for booth monitoring-just plug directly into a set of powered speakers and your set.

A big surprize

If you want high-end performance without the high-end price, then this is your board. This mixer is loaded with everything you need to run your show.

Pros: All channels are selectable on any of the 4 input lines (mic 1 and 2 are separate on their own designated channel). Audio output is crystal clear on both R&L XLRs and RCAs. Channel sliders move smooth but are stiff enough to prevent "accidents." Effects are numerous and extremely variable. EQ knobs effect sound properly (ie bass set at -∞ actually means zero bass from speakers).

Cons: Leds are difficult to read (one solid bar) and might cause confusion during first couple uses(once the leds start to flash orange you are at the +4 dec level and pushing distortion).

Other: Haven't tested the Q-start.

This board is highly impressive and will do anything you ask of it. I prefer it to all Pioneer boards I have used and have converted a few "Pioheads" with it. Now all I have to do is get by DJ buddies to stop asking to borrow it and buy their own.
