Not A Bad Piece of Kit

I Play a Variety of Gigs, Blues-Rock-Funk- ect. I got this to use as a tone box for my cheezy little Home recorder, on A whim I brought it to a gig... This thing has not left my live rig since, That was two years ago. I turn it off Then I Dial in the Amplifier to get the tone that I want, after I have the tone that I want I add in this pedal. This Pedal gets you deeeeeeeeeeep, yet it retains all the clarity and Punch you could ever want, Its effect does seem subtle, (It seems to add "Air") But you will notice if you accidentally kick it off. You do have to spend some time dialing it in, because different Basses will require different settings, Different Amplifiers will require more or less mix. However, No Mid-Scooping,Marshall playing, Bottom Crazy, guitar player will ever get close to your bottom end ever again...This is heaven in a stomp box. It does feel Cheap but I have it in a stompbox case (Guitarist always mention that I have a lot of pedals for a "Bass Player") so I am not Plugging and unplugging it all the time it has not let me down once, and I do travel a lot.

This device does do what it claims- adds low end without extra volume and adds definition to your sound. Controls are easy to dial in a sound that fits your needs. Note that going to extremes on the low side will eventually add volume and clip your preamp. Going to extremes on the high will eventually add hiss. But is easy to just back off on both until sound is just right. The switch on mine can be tricky- sounds like speaker distortion, but I just click it off and on again and it's clear. You won't turn it off anyway, so this isn't an issue. My only problem is that as a DI box it doesn't have a level control, sound is at -50 to -60 from the DI and the sound guy may ask for more level you can't give. I don't slap/pop much, but this is where it really shines. If you play percussively and have a passive bass, you should get this without a doubt. If you play rock/svt style it won't hurt, but results aren't as dramatic.

Love my big bottom!

I use big bottom with big and small rigs and it does add depth and booty to my tone. On a Jazz bass, it gives a bottom end that is missing from the tone of a jazz bass. On P-Bass it adds tons of clarity and bottom. I leave it on all the time. I leave it on, set it and forget it.

This little pedal is a great addition to any rig. It cleaned up my sound a boosted bass response without blowing my speaker. It's like adding an extension cab. This thing can also turn any amp into an acoustic guitar amplifier. Now my guitarist is getting the acoustic version. You won't want to turn it off.
