Take advantage of this Arturia 10-Year Anniversary Special!~

The Jupiter 8V Virtual Synth from Arturia offers the unique sound palette of the Roland Jupiter 8. The 8V virtual version is a sound designer's dream. Based on the latest version of TAE, the Jupiter-8V software also offers a host of modern features: an advanced step sequencer, a new line of dynamic effects, a module combining LFO's (called Galaxy), and lots more

An accurate recreation of the Roland Jupiter-8
The legacy of the Roland Jupiter synthesizers is due to their unique voice architecture and design, creating sounds that were so unreal that they have to be heard. For many musicians no other synths in the world could create analog sounds as cool and as authentic as these.

The Jupiter 8V offered a very interesting combination of a high-pass non-resonant filter and a low-pass resonant filter. The arpegiator and the keyboard split made it a remarkable performance keyboard. Fast envelopes and precise oscillators confer to the Jupiter-8's sounds its famous versatility. You could easily make 'phat' or 'Crystal' sounds with it.

Innovative additions
With the Jupiter-8V Arturia brings this magic back while adding a new generation of features opening a unique and contemporary sound palette: •The Galaxy allows the user to choose from different LFO types and intertwine them together into a single unique modulation source, giving a new evolving element to the sound of the Jupiter 8.

•The Jupiter's step sequencer is also an assignable modulation source, which allows for easily generated patterns to be used to control the many interesting parameters of the sound.
•In addition to the step sequencer and Galaxy modulation sources, each voice now has its own suite of creative effects, which can be inserted into the main synthesizer signal path in each voice. Key parameters from each effect can be modulated by chosen sources, adding a new contemporary dimension to the traditional subtractive synthesis sound of the original Jupiter 8.

Classic Jupiter gets the job done

Although a bit high on system resources, as are most Arturia products, The Jupiter 8V is nearly a dead ringer for the original Roland classic.

I felt the Jupiter was poorly representitive on the Arturia Analog Factory in that most of the timbres were too same-sounding.

Not so with the Jupiter 8V which has a good amount of sliders and knobs to help program some wonderful synth string, arpeggiation, basses, and pad sounds, all of which are nicely represented in the factory presets. But, if you are like me, you'll most likely find the programming tools to be useful and inspirational.

Them days!

It is kind of amazing having been involved in music via radio, having the vast'est collection of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Vangelis, Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, Eberhart Schoenner ... you name it from those days ... and all of a sudden a whole bunch of those sounds that inspired you so much ... are right in your hands!

Is this better than the original? For some purists, probably not ... but I am sure that a lot of folks are just glad they don't have to run another 100 wires everywhere on the stage or office to play/hear an awesome machine.

Well, we can always say that ... no Beethoven is as good as the original, right?

Sure ... sure ... go ahead. Make my day!

This software is great when it works, but the documentation is a little shoddy. My software was rendered inoperable when I transferred my lincense from one of there dongles to another, something their site said I could do one every page but one, where in a sea of text, there was this one critical quote: "If he transfers his PROPHET V license from the Syncrosoft key we provide to another Syncrosoft key, this customer will no longer be able to use our key to get PROPHET V working any more."

As it turns out, this also applies to Brass and Jupiter 8. All of these products ($1000) were rendered USELESS by transferring the licenses. Really amateur. I won't buy from them again.
