Good for a beginner

I bought one of these sets, and it wasn't a bad deal for the price. Honestly, these aren't the greatest mics in the world, but you can get decent results with soe experimentation. The large diaphragm 2020 has a warm tone, perhaps a bit too much on the high end. The smaller 2021 can be a bit tinny sounding. I had originally hoped to use the 2021 on my acoustic guitar while using the 2020 for my voice, but the 2020 ended up being better suited to both so I'd go with just the larger one rather than this package. I'm now looking to upgrade to something better, but this was a decent value that was good to experiment with and learn. If I had it to do over again, I might go for something more professional like the 4040 right out of the gate, but if you're on a budget I'd recommend at least the 2020.

Might want to save your money. I am not the first to get one that does not work. If they do work, maybe they are OK - I don't know. Would not get another tho.

The 2020 makes and excellent stereo pair for acoustic guitar. Very open and airy. I first used it in a state of the art studio where the mic selection was vast and costly. I was dubious when the engineer recommended it. But, by golly, he was right! I don't know anything about the 2021...never used it. But I now own my own 2020 and often choose it over my AKG 414 for recording guitar AND vocals. Excellent value for the bucks. It would be a bargain at twice the price.

Stop! Don't buy it! Wait just a little bit longer, save just a little bit more and get the Rode NT1-A. It is a much better value for really not that much more. With the AT-2020, I have never been able to get a decent vocal out of it. A SM 58 sounds better than this garbage. I have been able to get ok guitar tones, but they are just ok, nothing to write home about. This mic is just not worth it.

I bought these mics a few months ago because they were a cheap package deal with good reviews. Well, I should have bought something else. The Vocal mic sounds very muddy and the instrument mic hasn't worked since the day it arrived. AT has never replied to my warranty request. If you buy these, keep your receipt, you'll need it. Spend the extra $ and buy a SHURE SM57 & SM58.
