Not Satisfied

These headphones were really disappointing. The sound representation is not accurate. Music does not sound bright, colorful, or vibrant. The low end is weak. I really just got these as a gift for my musical partner to listen to music out of, especially beats since we rap. Its not a worthy gift even for that purpose. Spend a little more and get something better. Or, spend a lot less and get something equal to these. I recommend the RH-5Ma from Yamaha. Much better.

Great home studio mix reproducer

Let's face it, if you are creating your own music in a home based setting then there are many elements that cause undesired results. There are reasons why professional studios cost millions of dollars to engineer. I bought these headphones to pull double duty-I needed to both record with and mix with a single pair of headphones early in my producing journey. Now 47 recorded songs later and literally hundreds of hours working recordings in the mix I am happy to say these babies work well. I hear the nuances that appear in the subtleties of the mix allowing a better final master. The final sound of the mixes translate well across many types of playback speakers, monitors, car stereos, mp3 formating, and across varied acoustical enviroments. These are excellent entry headphones and there are 2 limitaions I have encountered. The first; these will work for recordings but expect to record music from the headphones themselves on the track, this is lost in the mix and is able to be noise gated but it's an issue if that is truly inportant for your needs. Second, they provide no real isolation so should only be used in a quiet acoustical environment. Third; care should be taken to prevent ear fatique, as is always the case anyway. But I am very happy with these little headphones and have become quite attached to them and rely on them as accurate enough for passionate home based studios and post production work.
