The ATM450 cardioid condenser offers an innovative side-address stick design for endless placement options and minimal obstructions. The microphone is equipped with an integral 80 Hz hi-pass filter that provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. Audio Technica ATM450 also features a switchable 10 dB pad that lowers the microphone's sensitivity, providing higher SPL capability for flexible use with a wide range of performers and system configurations. The condenser microphone's extended flat frequency response makes it ideal for high SPLs as well as for live and amplified acoustic instruments. Includes a professional isolation clamp to provide secure mounting, versatile positioning and effective dampening of unwanted mechanical noise. Requires phantom power.

Not too shabby for the money

I just got this a couple days ago. I'm actually impressed so far, I used it on my Guild D25, and so far its the only mic I've found that truly captures that guitar. Another reason I'm surprised by that is because most reviews say these aren't the best on guitars. But if you want that deep and articulate woody sound, I'd say this is a good way to go. I've been told these excel on hats and toms, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. I'll write a follow up later when I do. I gave the features 4.0 because the db pad and bass roll off are hard to switch, they're embedded in the mic and need a small screw driver or toothpick to switch. Not a major deal, but a minor inconvenience. Still the mic is worth it, its definitely my go to mic for my acoustic. For the money, you can't beat it. Also, this thing was much smaller that I thought it would be, not good or bad, just saying. The only other negative I can see is that it doesn't have a shock mount, just a clip. But none the less, great mic.
