We were looking for a wireless system for use in fitness classes. We first went with Audio Technica's 200 series but were disappointed with the quality of the hardware and with occasional dropouts resulting in bursts of loud noise on the PA. This one is much nicer, smaller, more robust, holding the batteries tightly in the compartment and there is no noise when the transmitter is off. It does the job for us.

Caution

A word of caution here. I don't know if it was just that I got a mis-packaged unit or not, but it did NOT include the proprietary 4-pin to 1/4" guitar cable for the belt-pack. It does not state anywhere in the product description whether it is supposed to include it or not, so beware. As it is listed on the Audio-Technica website, the "701" does not include this cable, while the "701/G" does.
