Wow! I am so pleased with this little mic that's not quite as big as a nice cigar I can not tell you, but I will anyway. After a day struggling to figure out how this mic and all my other equipment could ever get along without crazy feedback I finally figured it out and the game was on. After several extended practice sessions and two live gigs I'm in love with this little guy. This thing will do anything asked of it from my brief experience as far as pure acoustic guitar and mandolin goes. I needed something for live application and it was a toss up between the AT-2035 and the Pro-37. I find it hard to believe that the 2035 would be any better but it would be a lot bigger that's for sure. I like the small size of the 37 and it's almost weightless! No regrets here.

AT Pro-37

I purchased two of the Audio Technica Pro-37's a couple of years ago to get a warmer more acoustic recorded sound as compared to the SM 57 I also own. I also have started using the Pro-37 on stage with the bluegrass band I play with because of their natural acoustic tone reproduction for mandolin and guitar. These mics are physically small but don't let that scare you off as the sound is not small and you will appreciate the size and lighter weight on the mic stands.

I am very pleased with these mics. I purchased four of them for our studio and I was sure glad I did. I am a beginner at recording and the quality of sound we got with these little mics was incredible and we produced a great first time CD. From what I can tell they will be great for live sound also. I highly recommend them for quality and value. They are great for vocals as well as instrument micing.

Great For Drum Overheads Too...

This is a great mic for recording drums, specifically overheads or specifically hi-hat mic'ing. Nice high end sizzle, light weight, easy to position in tight spots and will pick a nice full range from the toms as well. Great product for the money.

Great for close up instrument mic'ing

These mics are great for acoustic guitar, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, saxophone, clarinet, etc. The windscreen is a must, as these mics are very sensitive at short distances; but the windscreen is very effective at sharply reducing unwanted noise. The small size lets you run out your booms stands all the way, and frees you from worrying about mic stands tipping over. These mics also work well for recording vocal or instrumental ensembles (but not for live use with ensembles.) The stand clip is very sturdy, and does not easily come unthreaded from a stand once it has been attached, so you don't have to worry about it trying to unscrew itself during a performance. My only caution would be to NOT hot-plug this microphone, because the noise caused by plugging/unplugging the mic cable from this microphone while it is being routed through the speakers is VERY loud. Make sure your mixer has Phantom Power before purchasing.
