This particular mic setup is great if you are a gigging drummer, the tom mics are however a bit hot for studio work. If you are looking for a set to record with keep the D6 on kick and the i5 on snare, just add D2's for rack tom(s) and D4's for floor tom(s). Hopefully you've been helped by this review. I'd also recomend for live and studio applications a good set of overhead mics. If you're on a budget a good option would be the Shure KSM109. Good luck with your searches.
