The B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 Speaker System comes with 2 10" 2-way powered satellites and a dedicated powered 15" subwoofer. The Matrix-1000 V2 has a built-in 3-channel 700W power amplifier, 3 independent volume controls, electronic crossover with equalization, and VCA compressor.
The circuitry is designed and fine-tuned to integrate all components for the best possible sound. There is no need to tweak or finesse settings on a crossover or compressor to make your system sound great. Simply roll the system into place on its heavy duty casters, plug in the AC, connect the two speaker cables, run two XLR cables to your mixer and you're ready to go
Built-in 3-channel amplifier
The 15" subwoofer enclosure is divided into two separate compartments. The front chamber serves as the cabinet for the 15" subwoofer. The rear chamber houses all of the system's electronic circuitry, which includes the amplification for all three components, power supply and preamps. The 15" subwoofer has a power handling capability of 400 watts and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.
10" satellite speakers
The B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 satellites are loaded with a custom designed 10" speaker and 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver. The "horn" is a 90 x 60 elliptical waveguide that can be rotated 90° to optimize the dispersion pattern to best suit your particular application. These versatile B-52 speakers are pole-mountable and can sit as stage monitors. They also include 3/8"—16 tpi flying hardware for small venue permanent installations. The rounded front of the satellite speaker is a perfect fit for the convex face of the subwoofer, allowing you to stack, roll and transport the entire Matrix-1000 V2 in and out of a venue in record time.
Transporting the system
To transport the B-52 Matrix-1000 V2, simply set the subwoofer on its casters and place the satellite speakers on to the subwoofer's front panel, facing down. Fasten the satellites with the included locking strap using the handles on either side of the subwoofer cabinet. Place the included cover over the entire PA speaker system and you're ready to move the Matrix-1000 V2 with ease.

I first bought this system about 8 months ago, and set it up in my project studio to monitor drums. I also have 2 B-52 LX1515 club PA speakers which I use for the house. When I decided to use the Matrix 1000 as my primary mobile DJ PA system, I was a little unhappy with the muddy sound from the 10" speakers. However, adding a BBE sonic maximizer took this system right to the top for me. I now use this system for all my DJ and drum monitor gigs, and the LX-1515's are strictly for reinforcement in larger venues.
The review about the controls breaking is true. It would be better to transport the entire system on a hand truck to ensure that the controls do not get bumped. But, having it on casters is great when moving it around the area where it will be used.
I've been complimented so much on the sound quality by customers, I'm thinking of selling my LX-1515's and getting a second Matrix 1000 so I can really canvas larger stages/venues.

This is an awesome system. Got mine just this Saturday with stands and cables everyhting all for $500. Only used 3 times. Since I'm by myself I can't trasnport it as one unit; I have to place the small speakers inside the truck then lift the woofer up onto the bed of the truck and vice versa to unload. I agree with the other person who said that the controls are at the bottom of the unit can easily be damaged if going up on stairs or uneven pavement. Overall, I always wanted one and finally got one but for way less.

Good System, Some Design Flaws

I think this is a great system for the money. It sounds good and has some power.
The downside to this unit is the fact that the controls face the floor. I consider this to be an obvious design flaw. You have to be very careful moving it around! It's very incredibly easy to smash the controls if you're lifting over stairs or if the floor you are rolling the unit on is uneven. Also, it's a very heavy unit, so you need two people to lift it.
Otherwise, no problems :)

I bought this two days ago, plugged it in to my computer and began pumping my Kansas collection through it. I am astounded at the sound quality and the low speaker hiss even at high volumes. I might even be able to use it as my main system for small outdoor venues.
B52 was thinking about the user when they made this product. It took 10 minutes to set the system up (including plugging in speakers and finding outlets in my house), and the transportability is easy even though this beast weighs ~150 lbs. The only thing I dont like is having the control panel on the bottom, if you drop it on an edge or something, you'll definately break the knobs off. The whole panel seems to be pretty durable though, and I like the case. Way to go B52!!!
