With all the more expensive name brands out there, I always assumed the more I spent, the better it was going to be. Well, that still may be true in some aspects, but I am sold on this sub from Behringer. I'm running a QSC mx2000a bridged (1300 watts RMS) with a Berhringer FBQ1502 eq with built in crossover and Behringer B212A speakers for tops, an Aphex 204 and a compressor. I felt a tear run down my cheek when I tuned everything and cranked it up. No...but seriously, this sub really puts out serious bass for such a small price and cabinet. ( like to feel it as well as hear it) It wasn't as heavy as I thought, but still very heavy. Naturally, you need some power behind it or you will distort and burn up the 4" voice coil. The cabinet is as solid as they come, the grill looks cool, but could have been a little thicker gauge metal. The lows are punchy, but can be boomy for the hip hop music. I recommend a commpressor if your going to run it all the way up all night, it will absorb the power robbing peaks and spikes without losing your bass tone. And a NL4FC Speakon end is needed if you DON'T want to use the internal crossover. Over all, a great buy, great warm lows that sound good at 1 watt or 500. 4.5 for needed speakon connector. Sound is a strong 4.5 Keep up the good work Behringer!!

These subs require a lot of power. The reason you probably blew these is because you sent 2,000 watts to them. They peak at 1600. Im surprised they lasted the first gig. These are great as long as you dont expect more than they can put out. Remember that to double your bass output, you need 10times the power. I use them with a PV2600. Great for the price. I am getting 2 more.

Massive Bass 15 Feet off the Floor

I installed one of theses in a medium size (400 seat) worship center. It is 15 feet off the floor in a fiber glass baffle. It isn't the lowest playing sub, but it can give a nice kick. Sub was first powered by one side of a Ep2500, now we have a EP1500 in bridge on it and wow, its alive. Tuned it with a DBX Drive Rack Pluss and it sounds just a good as our Yamaha's and close to our 8,000 watt Danley Accoustics. Highly recommend these to any one

Blew two speakers

I purchased a pair of these running them on a EP2500 bridged. They only lasted two gigs and blew both speakers - one after another. I ohm'd them and proved the speaker coil was blown. Returned them but went with the Peavey SP118's instead. Peavey's are working great connected to the same amp with the same cables. Not sure if I got a bad batch of speakers or what. They did sound good until they blew!
