Bang for your Buck!

I've owned this mixer for a little over 2 months now and I must say it was well worth it. The features that you get with this mixer are insane for the low price tag. It may look cluttered at first to some but within a day I had the whole thing figured out. The FX are great and easy to use. You will hear people complain about the blue LED's at the top but behringer seemed to have taken that into consideration because mine did NOT have those blue LED's that are really bright. I would definitley recommend this mixer.

To complain about the LEDs is just petty. If you get the know the layout of the mixer you can run it in complete darkness. I started using it right out of the box with no manual. I own tons of production hardware, so navigating the menu is a breeze. Menu is very simple, and fast moving layout. Speed is very critical to most styles of DJing. Sound quality is top notch even through the RCA out. At 1/4 the price of Pioneer DJM and it does the same thing. Some things better. I actually think the MIDI sync and control is better on the DDM. At the end of the day, you are the DJ. Not the mixer. If you'd rather pay a grand or more for popularity be my guest. DJM series is surviving off it's popularity, not it's function and value. My previous mixer was a Behringer bought in 2001. Still runs like a champ for all you skeptics out there of Behringer's longevity.

Behringer DDM4000 Hits the mark

What can I say... this is a great idea and is overall well executed. The mixer is well built, has tons of features, and an intuitive user interface. Buttons and controls are well laid out, and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the effects section which -- for such a complex piece of gear -- is very simple to use.
My sole gripe at the moment is with the lights on the unit. If you’re going to use 50 yellow LED’s, take them from the same batch so the color hue is consistent. The other issue is the brightness level of a couple of them. The unit has four 'Mode' LED's. In multi-mode (default) a yellow LED is lit, single mode, a blue. The blue LED used is insanely bright, similar to one of those small pocket LED lights. You know how bright those things are when you shine them into your eyes... now try that in dark room for 4 hours! It creates a 'halo' effect, making it almost impossible to see the controls. I'm assuming someone accidentally switched suppliers on Behringer and this will be fixed; I don't what to have to cover new mixer in tape. If you're a serious DJ, I would recommend checking this issue out before making a decision to buy. I'm still giving the mixer 4.5 overall because it's so damn good.

This mixer is great. The controls are simple and intuitive, only after an extensive read of the instruction manual mind you. But with as many features as this mixer has, that is to be expected. Cons you say? I get the feeling that this mixer won't last very long. It doesn't feel cheap, but I haven't seen inside it and its low cost would hint to low quality internals. At any rate, this mixer is great and I'm going to rock it till the wheels fall off so to speak. Practise and n'joy
