I have been using the Behringer EUROPOWER PMP5000 Powered Mixer since Feb 2006 for hosting Karaoke and local bands . Never have had any problems with it.The only thing I added to my setup is a powered subs and a EQ..Five band EQs just don't cut it with live bands. My customers have always complimented the sound of my system and I have many returning for more shows.

Wonderful product, much lighter than a mixer and separate amp. Packed full of features like all Behringer products, and backed by their famous support. Powerful, compact, sounds great, and a great price (in comparison).

You get what you pay for

I was recently asked to run sound for a blues cover band at a small festival, using their sound system, which included this board and 2 12" behringer speakers. I only controlled the levels and was not involved in setting it up. I was able to get a decent sound out of it, but it was an uphill fight. THe low end from the kick and a DI from the bass amp were both difficult to EQ. Very hard to find the sweet spots on the mixer for it. Also, the fader response seemed uneven. Slight changes on the board did not produce slight changes in the levels. Subtly is lost on this board. To get something louder in the mix, I had to push things around considerably. That being said, it's a fair price for a board that won't be used at a "serious" gig or by professional-aspiring engineers or bands. You have to pay more money if you really want a good board. Behringer will never be Yamaha, Allen and Heath, DigiCo, Mackie or Midas.

Great mixer...I guess - NL4F

After reading almost uniformly favorably reviews of this mixers, I was excited to trade in my 200W Peavey power mixer and small mixer for the PMP5000. I week later I have not been able to use it since no store in Boston - including all the big music stores - carry the NL4F speakon connector. I had to have them custom made and ordered. I am surprised no other review mentioned the need for the 4 contact NL4F. Did everyone find them in their local stores? Are some of you using NL2F??

Good value but overall power weak

I have owned the PMP5000 for about 6 months. It has plenty of features for the money. The 1200 watts is way over exaggerated. It feels more like 200 per side to me. I play keyboards in an all 80's band. When we are doing songs with a constant fat synth part in it, the keyboards cut out as do other instruments that are running through the mixer. I bought a Behringer 4000 watt amp and routed the main outs of the mixer to it. No problems with power now. I am running it with JBL mrx515 speakers. As far as sound quality, most of that will be in your speakers but the mixer can play a small role in this as well, but not much around this price range or even a little higher. Your quality of sound is only going to be as good as your weakest link. So, you can have an Allen and Heath console with Bose speakers, but if you are using cheap cables you will lose clarity. This is a decent bang for the buck. Do not settle for using cheap speakers, go with the JBL's. If not you will be fighting the EQ the entire gig trying to find a sweet spot for vocals.
