This board went above and be on what I was expecting for the price. I decided to get this mixer because I read all the reviews and people seemed to give great rating and the price is unbeatable. I hook it up it is very simple to use and the quality is great. Some reviews said they heard a hum coming from this mixer, I haven't I hooked it up to my Tascam DP-02 Portastudio and got great sound. I can't complain at all, buy it and you won't be disappointed at all trust me.

I've been using this unit for about a year with no problems. Just needed something to help record some home demos and this fit the bill. The mic pre-amps are a bit noisy when I use them but for the money you can't really complain. When it does die I'll upgrade to something a bit nicer/quieter but this thing supplies quite a bang for the buck. If you just want something for basic hobbyist/home recording this little unit can't be beat.

I have nothing to compare with so I can't tell you if it colours the sound or not (however I wouldn't be surprised), but it certainly has serious hiss. Like enough hiss that it is a real problem even for non-professional use. The hiss comes when you turn up the "Main Mix" out knob so I keep that as low as possible and crank the channel levels. However if you do this too much you create internal distortion, even when the "peak" lights aren't lighting up. The best position for the "Mail Mix" knob is about 9 o'clock. ...

The hiss is a big issue. Also some of the knobs make noises when I turn them. It is kind of frustrating to use because it is not a quality piece of equipment, so to get something okay out of it is work. I've used it mostly for fooling around recording things into my computer. When I got it I knew nothing, so this was a good tool to learn with. Now that I know something, I'm thinking of upgrading, and I'm looking forward to the ease of dealing with some quality equipment!! ...

Bought this unit as a snap purchase for my home studio over 3 years ago. How hard is it to use a mixer? this one anyway was a piece of cake. Manual - never read it. A few limiting factors affect the percieved versatility as previously mentioned (ie. master volume affecting both tape and main outs, tape in only having an on/off type switch with no level meters) but there are easy workarounds to get what one wants out of the thing. Another annoying point is the lack of on/off switch. ...

The sound isn't colouring my mixes noticeably, but I know that my yamaha promix gives more clarity and more midrange to my instruments/computer audio than this allows, and the eq's on the ub802 are pretty average. I only use this mixer to converge two computers and a set of cdj's & dj mixer to my powered monitors. Recording is done via a motu 828mkII and alesis 3630 compressor straight into a pc so I have never tried the pre-amps in the 802. ...

I bought this unit in 2004, and it has, due to the lack of power switch, been left on for 3 years straight, give or take a day or two while I moved house. A few of the pots are slightly crackly, but it has never been the cause of any issue in my studio. It is covered in dust and ciggarette ash. I should give it a clean, but I don't think its needed... so for that I give an honest 10/10 for reliability. ...

I have never had to deal with costomer support and I own quite a few pieces of behringer equipment (b2031 monitors, BCR2000 midi controller, B1 mic, ultra di-pro8000). They've all done the job with little fuss or fanfare (although no flair either) for years. ...

I use this product at least every second day and pretty much forget about its existence for weeks at a time as I control my levels from the source usually. For the type of music I write (trance/dance music) it does the job. I would prefer to put my yamaha promix01 in its place due to its cleaner audio, additional inputs and built in effects but I am space limited and push my mids a little to account for its scoop. Instruments I use include an alesis ion, all the electribes, electric & classical guitars, mics, 307 groovebox, tribal percussions and 2 pcs running ableton live, reason and a bunch of softsynths and vsts. I wouldn't buy it again but wouldnt sell it either. The UB802, for the money at the time, was a perfect purchase and is feature rich considering the price of the competition (ie. Mackie). It would be great to have more control of the volume of individual outputs and tape input, as well as power switch. Some effects would not have gone astray either. Ultimately though it has endeared itself to my studio through its reliability and hassle free operation. No other piece of equipment ever have I left switched on for three years, let alone without a hitch. ...

I've not seen the unit produce any noticable hiss on my setup. I have two that I use to do live mixing into a tascam dp-01fx. It only records 2 channels at once so these cheap mixers have worked wonders for me. I use one mixer strictly for micing a drumset and going into the first channel on the 8 track. The second mixer is for various vocal mics and the guitars and bass. It's worked really well for me. I just bought a Behringer EX3200 Ultrafex that I'm going to put inline between the 2 mixers and the 8 track to help out the sound a bit. I don't blame the mixers but my cheap mics and amps. ...
