Bought this along with a Behringer 1202 mixer. All hooks up great, but the driver CD came in warped, but I figured no biggie cause Behringer has the download on their site. The only thing this doesnt clearify is if It is capable of recording multiple tracks simutaniously. I still havent figured that one out. Im I drummer, so I would like to know if thats possible. If someone could include the answer in the next review that'd be great. Great little Interface!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!This is the best you can get for the price. Easy to use and downloading the driver from behringer was to. It looks and acts very high end. Firewire is def way better than usb(in my exp). I use it with the behringer 802 mixer and the c-1 mic and it sounds great. The recording software that comes with it(ableton) is a liitle difficult but the free ones that you can download from behringer (kristal, or Audacity) are super easy.

If you are being realistic with your expectations, this is the best firewire device for the money. Cosmetically it looks very high end (its metal, not plastic) and it records at up to 96khz. The sound quality is excellent (anyone complaining about lifeless sound is new to digital audio, those are the ropes). Only 2 ins and outs, so you need a separate board to record a whole band, but for a home studio or mobile recording, this is the best you'll find at this price (although I like it better than some more expensive boxes).

Now has Vista Drivers

It should be noted how as of August 2008 there is an available Vista driver (0.9.3b). Yay! Anyway, you gotta get one of these. They're great for everything. A good trick is to use one as a dedicated audio out on the studio computer. If you run your computer to system speakers (onboard audio out) and this to powered monitors (or even PA), you get a neat amount of control. You may need to take care when installing these drivers on XP. If you're working on a fresh system, install your mobo audio drivers FIRST or the Behringer stuff gets shunted.

I have had this for about 2 months, using a Behringer UB802 mixer, MXL990 mic, Korg AXG1 pedal, and a DOD direct box for bass & the acoustic pickups from my HTL-TB and EAB Bass. Using this with Kristal Audio Engine, Adobe Audition 1.5, and Music Studio 12 Deluxe all I can say is.....WOW! In all 3 programs I can get a solid 4ms latency at 48kHz. This is on a Frankenstein 1.9gHz P4 with 2GB of memory and a ancient SIIG 400 PCI Firewire card. Some people have said it sounds "flat & lifeless". I work with some studios that have the RME and Digi stuff, and yes it does sound sort of flat and 2 dimensional in a side by side comparison. But it is no worse than a M-Audio 2496 or Delta series cards, or even the EMu 0404 (I have used & owned all of these for at least a year) and it is LIGHT YEARS ahead of any Soundblaster card most home setups use. I bought this for a "new" build, and got the bonus of portability for my laptop. This is a great buy IMHO!
