Cheap interface

The Behringer guitar link is an Inexpensive way to play and record guitar on the computer. I bought it simply to practice quietly and maybe record a little. The included software has three amp models and a variety of presets all loaded up but these are trial amp models and shut down after 30 minuets of use so you need to restart the program for another 30 minuets. Also the signal seems to be left channel only and unless you record and play back you can only hear your guitar through headphones (left side only). No big deal for me but others may not like being stuck with headphones all the time.

All in all it does what they advertise and I am happy with it. If I ever get serious about recording though I will get a better interface.

I have been a devout old-school analog guy for a long time. I use old-tech tube amps and have generally eschewed anything digital. I bought this after the boys and I decided to try digital recording. I quickly realized that running the signal straight into the mixing console afforded the best and cleanest sound. While there are certainly better interfaces out there, this Behringer certainly does the job for me. I run it through a cheapy Wal-Mart Acer laptop and have no latency issues @ 17ms. The ACBox Combo gets some wonderful tones that are very easy on the ear. I also use this with Amplitube Fender and it works great. All in all a good product.

It didn't work great when I first got it; all sorts of weird problems. Random clipping, even on the low gain setting. Included software didn't work at all.

Now, it doesn't support 64 bit systems. This is a total waste of money.

it doesn't give you the best quality all in all, but for the price it's easy, works great, and makes recording guitar into your digi multitarck a breeze. i use it with waves guitar, IK Fender, IK Metal, Guitar Rig, Nuendo 3 - works great. Make me want to write muzak more.

I just wanted something I could use to play my guitar on Garageband on my Mac. Plugged it in, told GB to use it for input and output and viola, I'm jamming. Does exactly what I wanted an no setup involved... didn't even need to install any drivers for Mac.
