The Behringer TRUTH B2030A Active Monitors - Pair have all of the great features of their stablemates in a compact cabinet! This is a high-resolution, active 2-way reference studio monitor that is perfect for near field monitoring applications in small mixing environments or multichannel surround setups. Despite its small size, the B2030A can achieve a peak output level in excess of 113dB SPL. Powered by separate 75W and 35W amplifiers with an active crossover, these monitors provide ultralinear frequency response from 50Hz-21kHz. A long-throw 6.75" woofer with a special polypropylene diaphragm delivers smooth, deep bass, while an extremely high-resolution HF driver reproduces highs that are crystal clear and full of detail. The unique Behringer wave guide and the extremely low-distortion crossover network produce an absolutely linear phase response with excellent sound dispersion and stereo imaging. The B2030A is equipped with servo-balanced inputs on XLR and 1/4" TRS connectors to handle a variety of audio sources. Thanks to its compact size and magnetic shielding, the TRUTH B2130A can be placed near video monitors, computer displays, or digital audio workstations.

I didn't know what to expect from these monitors considering the low price. I was really settling because they were in my price range at the time and were the size and look I wanted. From the moment I pulled them Out the box. I got the feeling that I had stumbled on to something. Nice wood Cabinets BiAmp heavy and Solid to the touch. Many features to adjust for various room size conditions and They Sounded Great when I got them Up and running. Couldn't believe what was happening really. In fact Over the Five years I've had my studio. The only Consistently reliable things in there have been These monitors. Have Nt failed me yet and they Have clearly been Under the most pressure throughout the time.

I have had a set of these for about a year and a half and I cant stop listening to them. the clarity is so amazing I just cant stop. So I'm going to get another set so I can get it twice as loud.

Seriously folks, If you want your mixes to sound good everywhere you play them, then mix/Master on these puppies.

I couldn't bring my old (junk) speakers...

I couldn't bring my old (junk) speakers or powered mixer with me when I moved, so I bought these and I am very pleased with them.

Together they take up about as much room on my desk as my computer monitor. They are heavy, they feel solid, the connections feel good.

I get no hiss when there's no sound. I have noticed however a slight crackle at some frequency but I wasn't sure if it was the recording or the speaker. I also don't like that the monitors pop when I turn them on.

I don't really know what to expect as far as features go, but a trim for the input and the xlr and 1/4 inputs are all I need.

I have to have them pointed at my ears to get a good mix, so I suspect that's why some people have complained about the bass lacking. Sorry if that sounds obvious but I can't think of another reason.

For the price, I'm very happy with them.

Great but be aware...

Having read all the wonderfull comments about these monitors I decided to give Behringer a chance and judge by myself. I wanted a decent pair of monitors for a low price. And I have to say that I'm satisfied. They sound very good and their features like room compensation, etc, are unusual in this price range and certainly you will appreciate them. I only found one bad, but significant con. When I was tracking a hard rock bass player suddenly a very unpleasant buzz or ringing came out of both monitors when played low G note, I realized that the buzz was mechanical not the speakers. So I introduced my finger in the small ports next to the driver and the buzz stoped. Thus I knew it was a mechanical resonance in the speaker ports. I decided to remove the speakers and found that the plastic ports are poorly glued to the MDF cabinet. I unmounted them and reglued again with enough silicon seal, let them dry for two days and placed the speakers again in their place, and the sound was better than new!!! I think the german design of this monitors is great but the chinesse manufacture is not the best. If you experience the same and you are handy with tools and screwdrivers you can fix them by yourself and enjoy their great sound.

Best in its price range

I did a monitor shootout in December 2007, using these ones, and competitors such as M-Audio, Yorkville, Tapco, KRK, and Event.

The 2030A's don't flatter the music (such as lowend multimedia speakers do) but are sounding very natural. I tried them out using Cd's from Kraftwek, Dolly Parton, and a few more well-produced albums - they all responded eally well. There _was_ a noticeable difference when compared to monitors costing USD 3000, but in the price range, there's simply no competition. Let me spare you the (admittedly fun) hassle of trying our monitors yourself and go for these ones.
