I've had these for about 3 years now. I use them for everything: I play my git'r, bass, and synths through them (off the board); I mix and playback with them too. Lots of people have complained about reliability/quality; I've had no such problems. I think it's because I've used them consdrvatively, not blasted them to the limits of their power. I know their limitations. But I've been very happy with the sound quality and ability to reproduce what I've done. I also like being able to tailor them for any room. So...like many Berhinger products, an EXcellent bang for the buck item, even if it isn't elite-class gear. Worth it.

Great Radio

I bought these monitors because of the bang for the buck you get with them. And for what it's worth they do sound good for the money. My only real gripe with them is that they pick up the radio. This happens even when nothing is plugged into the inputs so it's not a loose cable. I opened up the amps and installed several RF chokes everywhere I could and that helped. But the problem is still there. From what other people are saying the problem seems to depend on how close you are to a strong radio signal. (I can see the tower from my house) So if you're going to buy these monitors get them from some place where you can return them if you have the radio problem. Otherwise they're great for the price.

Great monitors for the price

I have used these as the primary monitors in my recording studio for over two years. I am a little cramped for space in my studio - recording and control are in the same room - but I love these monitors. Great for the price.

I'll start off this review by noting I've been using these monitors now for 7 years, so I'm not some excited newbie I'm actually a guy that's been recording for about 17 years now and have had this product for 7 years. I'll start by noting how flat these are. They are perfect in that whatever I play on them that sounds bad sounds bad on all other systems. Whatever sounds good translates to sounding good on other sources. Being I've had mine so long I have to rate the quality very high as I've had ZERO problems with mine - no joke... not one problem, though I've read some horror stories from some owners. That being said I'd like to note I've read some slight speculation on the net that the older models, such as mine, are far better in quality than the more current models... again though that is purely specualtion from like 2 people.

I've tried upgrading, cause we all want the supposed "best" no? I've tried Dynaudio BM15A's, Mackie HR824's (MK1 & MK2) and I keep coming back to these and returning the others. I will say, the new Mackies are awesome but the bass is just way too much for a "half-space" setup, meaning a setup where there's a wall right behind your speakers. The room acoustics need serious treating due to the Mackies deep low end response and that costs thousands in serious basstraps to fix the problem. I don't have this problem with the Behringers, yet I still have great tight punchy low end, just not as low as others might go. In all honesty though most consumer listening sources don't have a good accurate sub-50hz response anyway.

I don't know what else to say about them. I mean, they're flat, they're super accurate, they're super inexpensive, and I've had mine for 7 years and they're still going strong. Your mileage may vary of course so you're on your own. But after all this time I thought, "Why didn't I ever write a review? After all this time I think I have something valuable to contribute".

Excellent value but not hi-fi

I bought them when I had little money and replaced them with something better (Adam A7s) when I had a bit more money.

They worked, they never broke, they sounded a bit muddy and indistinct with a woolly bottom end and lack-lustre mids and highs. You can learn them and mix around their weaknesses.

They have been relegated to tracking room monitors.

If you can afford better then buy better but I'm still using a Behringer headphone amp every day because it does the job fine.
