i know you might be thinking "this mixer isn't very good if the price is this low". i know, thats how i felt too. I bought it because it was cheap but man the output this little mixer spits out is incredible. i hooked it up to my laptop and then to my crown XLS 602 and this little mixer handled it all like a champ..

I went to use this to record my friends band and i noticed a problem immediately: The sound is distorted as hell. I had a Yamaha before this and had no problems whatsoever. I got this mixer because of more outputs and the effects but im sticking with yamaha and mackie for recording

I'm gonna be honest, I bought this mixer because it was the cheapest one I could find that did what I needed. But the second I plugged it in, I knew that I got more than I bargained for. It blew me away. It took probably 5 minutes to set the EQs and reverb for each channel the way I like it. Don't let people tell you that Behringer's quality is slipping. No it isn't the best, but for the money it's #1 in my book. My only complaint is, with all the features this little thing has, they couldn't find room for an on/off switch. You have to unplug it when you're done.

The BEST!

Okay, before I rave about how awesome this little mixer is, I must preface with a history.

For years now, I have been on a messy, endless quest that would allow customers, and myself, to sing vocals with "live" reverb... yet, record the said vocals DRY.

Computer-wise, ASIO wasn't an option, and to get the desired manner of singing, I previously had to use TWO mixers. From the 1st mixer, a dry signal would be sent to my laptop. Another dry signal would go into an effects processor and/or another, extra mixer.

Wires... clutter... frustration.

But, with the 1202 FX, it's simple.

I just plug in the mic... set the reverb where I want it... bring my backup music into the tape-in, from the laptop... lastly, connect a wire from the "FX send" jack into the input of my laptop. Presto!

"Live" reverb, but the recorded signal is DRY.

Now, as for the sound... I have never been unhappy with a Behringer product yet, and this mixer has tipped me all the way over to being a Behringer fan for life.

Nice Mixer... Having Issues

I can't figure out why, but this little guy is generating MASSIVE amounts of heat off the bottom. It is an unpowered mixer, and it also contains no power supply onboard. I'm still waiting to hear back from Behringer on this issue. The EQ is very harsh on live mics. No matter what brand of mic I put in it, I am constantly having to roll off most of the highs, almost all of the mids, and boosting the heck out of the lows. Why they included a low cut switch on the mic channels, I'll never know. Still working with it though. I'd also agree with other reveiwers that a power switch would be nice.
