I'm a church sound guy that uses an Allen & Heath GL2200-32 at church. I'm very comfortable with that board, and desired a board for my occasional live jobs that would be familiar to me, with no learning curve. This board fits the bill perfectly. It has the same layout. The only features that it doesn't share (that I've noticed so far), are the line pads, phase inverts, and level meters on each channel. This last is disappointing for me. The XL3200 does have signal and peak led's, but the GL2200 has 2 more in between, making for an adequate level display without having to pfl each channel. Incidentally, the board does indeed have 28 pre's, and individual phantom power switches for each channel (a big deal for me). Last summer, I used an A&H SR424Plus, and had trouble with two things. The global phantom power was giving me trouble with noise from stuff other than the mics and di's that needed it; and the channel mutes that have no indicator lamps. I often missed opening muted channels. Memory loss is a drag. This console fixes both issues for me. I haven't had the board out yet, so take my ratings for quality with a grain of salt. I do now have five Behringer boards, from the very small on up. I've not had any failures fom the other four, except for a power supply failure, which was caused by my running on choppy inverter power. I bought two of them used. I have confidence in this board, but did opt for the protection package. This is the first one that cost enough to not be considered disposable, and our local repair tech doesn't repair Behringers.

Midas Venice

This is actually a Midas Venice for 1/10th of the price. Look at the features which are identical. I have compared it with the Midas and even measured it. Guess what - the Behringer has less hum. Looking for a real bargain - this is it. I will buy more for our rental business.

I may have gotten one of the first 32 channel units shipped in the US! Finally had a chance to put it through its paces at a local HD Bike Night running a six piece band and 5 vocalists through a 21-channel mix. The board was easy to use, intuitive to operate, and most of all it sounded great. I upgraded from a Eurodesk SX3242FX and am really glad I did. The pre's are above average for a mixer in this price range and the new British EQs sound really good - was able to dial in the tone I was looking for right away. Much warmer than my previous board. I wish the board had a little more headroom overall but I solved that easily with a little compression and eq boost on way to the mains. If you're hoping to match the quality of a $3K+ digital board, keep looking. But for the money, this was a good investment for my little sound company. By the way, to avoid the gear-snobs from judging my board before they heard it, I put a little tape over the logo and when folks asked what kind of board it was during the show, they couldn't believe it. 'nuff said!

Behringer strikes again!!!!!

I think I got one of the first of these shipped in the country. Received it 5-4-09 and put it into used the day after for a large "Joseph" musical at our church.

First impressions: Very light weight - you can carry this board with one hand. Nice looking board. Nice metering. Individual phantom switches. All auxes can be set to pre fade for up to 6 monitor mixes. Very well thought out. It has all the features you need in a 32 channel 4 buss mixer. Does pretty much everything a A&H GL2400 does (minus the matrix) for less than 1/3 the price.

Mic preamps seem smoother than other Behringer mixers.

Overall this mixer rocks!! Behringer better be prepared to sell a lot of these.
