Great microphone at any price

I've used 58s for 30 years, and they are great mics, but at a third of the price, this Behringer is beyond a great deal. Bad sounding equipment makes me cringe, and I'm hypersensitive to tone, quality, sound, and tuning. In an A/B with a 58, this mic would be indentical except that it's a little hotter. And, of COURSE it doesn't have an on/off switch, no quality mic that I know of does - including the 58. Don't know about durability just yet, but I'll be sure to let you know if it dies anytime soon.

Yes, we all like our favorite pieces of equipment...everything else sucks...blah, blah... The reason sound guys like the 58 is because it's consistent and durable...and sounds good on everyone. Some mics are hotter and louder, but that's not always a good thing. We kept getting feedback at one of our shows and after some research, found it was because our bass player was using my EV nd747 mic... Too hot and causing lots of feedback is not what you want in a mic!! We replaced it with one of these and viola...no problems and it sounds great! He thought the EV would be better because it costs more...it isn't. You need a consitent, reliable mic...use the eq on your board and you'll be fine.

For the price, about as good as you get. It's a work horse mic that can go from vocals to a guitar amp. It's not a SM58 but dose the job. It's not as clear and crisp as a SM58, but with a little EQ work mainly in the highs this is a solid mic. This is a solidly built mic, will be around a long time. A lot of mic for the $$$$$!!!!

This mic has a VERY clean response that bring out the tone of my lows, mids, and highs with stunning clarity. The high response was a bit low, but nothing the 1/16th of a turn on my mixer can't fix! After that slight change my highs were blisteringly clear and dominant over my entire 5-piece band!

As far as percussion goes, this mic *could* be a bit better, but like with my vocals, you barely have to adjust the lows/highs and the kicks will have plenty of attack AND bass for any at-home or studio producing needs. And the fairly wide response makes these mics perfect for getting a 12+ piece drum set recorded!

This mic is an absolute STEAL, plain and simple. I ordered 8 of them for my future firewire setup, and If i have some spare cash I would order 8 more just to have as backup!

If you have the money to pay for $200+ mics, then get something better; but for those that need a cheap solution to a VERY expensive hobby, I would recommend these mics in a second
