My band's guitar player got this for his birthday last year. He brought it to one of our practices and set it up in the corner of my tiny room hooked up to his macbook. I'm a drummer, so I know nothing about recording and therefore was skeptical of how good the quality of our recordings could turn out with this one funky little mic in the corner. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The instruments were mixed surprisingly well. My drums were set up on the other side of the room, and you could hear each cymbal crash, hi hat chk, tom, snare, and bass hit in amazing fidelity. The guitars and bass turned out fantastic too. I really recommend this mic for any band on a budget.

I borrowed this mic from my music teacher to some recordings and i must say for the price it's a wonderful investment, it provided a nice clear tone for my guitar and my bass frquencies, and it picked up my drum tracks nicely even though the cymbals were heard over the mix.

I bought this mic and was very pleased with the sound. And its so awesome that its a usb mic. all u do is plug it in and there's nothing else to do but to record. You just plug and play. And i love that. No installing anything. This mic is definitely a professional mic. Im sure people have had not so great experiences with it. but people always have different expectations and needs for the mic. I just record demos and stuff at home and the mic does everything. Picks up pretty much all instruments including drums very well. The three settings are awesome. the omni directional allows u to be jamming with another person and both singing and playing an instrument and all on one track. the mic picks it all up. for my needs this mic more than does the trick. Worth my money.

I have been favourably impressed so far. The dual capsule design really adds a lot of versatility. Among the three settings, you can probably find one for your particular application. The omni setting gets fairly even response from nearly all directions. Directly in front is still a slight bit more sensitive than elsewhere. The cardioid settings are both quite useful. The -10dB pad isolates outside noise particularly well providing a tight, but very usable sweet area right in front. The tone is very usable. It has a very flat response that rolls off nicely at either frequency extreme and has a slight bump around 2-5kHz. It has a very natural sound. The build quality is great. Don't abuse it, but it should hold up fine under normal use. It looks fantastic too. It's not as flashy as Blue's higher end mics, but it sure outclasses its competitors aesthetically. On a side note, it's bigger than it looks in photos. It's easily softball sized. I've been using it to record vocals and guitar for some songwriting projects. It's done great for that. I don't think I would sell CDs with that kind of sound quality, but it's definitely enough for a well done demo disc. Overall, a great mic. I couldn't recommend it for much professional studio work, but it is fantastic for what I need.
