I'm a full time road musician and have owned a pair since the winter of 2007. In my 37 years of playing 6 string bass and singing, these buds put the rest to shame. With or without a backline, I highly recommend this product.

Great Sound But not reliable

I have had two pairs of these in the last 2 years. They have awesome sound but they suffer from cable quality. Both pairs have this flaw where the wire strips out of the connector and at the input of both both earbuds. My headphones wires are held together by electrical tape. I bought the headphones because they sound good cost more but in the long run will be cheaper because in a year with cheap $10 earbuds you pay more for them then these. I will probably buy shures now.

Fantastic sound. I abuse my buds. I take them to the gym, run with them, store them in my pockets when I am not listening to music. The tips came off and I lost one. I was bummed until I got on line and saw that bose had replacements. The new tips have not come off so I think they have fixed the problem.

I got these headphones as a Christmas present, and they are AMAZING!!! They handle every frequency like a dream. From bassy (if that's a word) bottom-end rap, to high-pitched, distorted, heavy metal guitars, these in-ear buds are ready to rock! Plus they have 3 different sized ear-tips that are SO comfortable! And don't believe what everyone says about the tips falling off, because Bose has fixed every problem these phones had. The tips never fall off, the jack is now angled where it plugs into the MP3 player, etc. You can tell which headphones are the improved version by the black and white cord. BOTTOM LINE: If you want something that will make you completely fall in love with music all over again, or maybe just something to jam out to in your spare time BUY THESE HEADPHONES!!!

PS. The only reason these got a 9 is because the price is a bit on the steep side, but compared to how much you might pay for a set of "studio" headphones, it's almost nothing.

I've always had sub par earbuds and I wanted something better, so I got Skullcandy Hess headphones that were really great for the price, but they broke. So I wanted something small with a good sound but didn't have all that much money. These are perfect. I listen to everything, from the heaviest music out there (Bass boosts and fast tempo drumming are now actually heard clearly with these) to Rachmaninov, and let me tell you, they're great for ANY style of music. They give a really good bass response. Not too much but not too little. They're comfortable for me, but I've heard of many poeple having problems with keeping them in. If they fit, they'll be some of the best earbuds you'll own. I'm a very active musician both in a wind ensemble and a band of my own. I'm surrounded by music everyday and I don't compromise the tone I hear, and these did NOT let me down whatsoever. You should probably let them play for about 20-25 hours before judging them, as the drivers in them need to be broken in to get the ebst possible sound. Get these!
