The Bose L1 Classic System brings full, natural sound to your performances and makes set ups and sound checks a breeze. The L1 Model 1 family of products puts the musician back in control of the music. Eliminates many of the common problems of conventional amplification while delivering uncommonly consistent sound for you and your audience. Bose includes L1 Cylindrical Radiator speaker, PS1 power stand, and R1 remote control.

System power: 250W to upper section, 250W to lower section. The Bose L1's unique design delivers a wide dispersion pattern with nearly 180-degrees of coverage that offers extended, even sound levels with no need for conventional monitors, amp, PA system, mixing console, or a tangle of cables. The PS1 Power Stand takes the place of those components, as well as being the mechanical support for the L1. It has 2 balanced mic/line and 2 unbalanced line inputs. Presets optimize the L1 for use with a variety of instruments and vocal mics.

The R1 Remote Control with 3-band EQ/volume control for each of the mic/line inputs and overall volume control for the system (inputs 1-4) make it easy to tweak your sound on the fly.

Small venue praise and worship

I have used this system extensively over the last 6 months in small and medium venues with two accoustic guitars and up to six singers. The system has worked well delivering natural sound with no feedback and no need for monitors. Sound clarity in difficult multipath venues seems exceptionally good. It is easy to transport and assemble. It has only two full featured channels so we have to use an external mixer. The equipment does not appear to be as rugged as is typical of road gear so we use considerable extra caution in how we handle it. So far, no failures. Overall, we are very pleased.

Just read a review that the bose system won't work with electric guitars - wrong works fine have to send it through a modeler or pre-amp first but then its great I play with guitar a keyboard a microphone and a midi drum (zen Drum) all hook in through a small miking board with two bass modules and it sounds great in small venues and hotels as well as small outdoor gigs spent the summer playing up and down restauraunt row in Maui and everyone loved it.

Great for medium to small clubs

We have a loud classic rock and blues cover band. We play SRV,Hendrix, etc. We always had to bring a truck full of crap to a gig. There have been real problems because of feedback, hookups, bad cords to track down, NOT ANY MORE! This system carries all the sound of the drums, electric guitar, bass, keys & vocals better than anything I have heard. No noise, feedback, heavy lifting, waste of time, hotspots, unwanted distortion or trouble of the past. Thanks for the new invention BOSE. Lots of naysayers want to hang on to the past, I like the past, but this is the real deal. The only change is that we use a Mackie board to run more channels than the Bose allows for and add a little effect.

Try Two Bose PAS Systems
Posted by Jude Marshall from New Bern, NC on Oct 26, 2005

The system is great to use as a PA with a mixing board for vocals and acoustic amplification. You must have two sub units and two PAS systems if you truly want excellent sound. The only thing you need to be aware of is that the system will not handle eletric guitars. Most venues either have their own PA's or you can use stage volume for your electric instuments/amps. The system is extremely portable and sets up in minutes; no heavy amps or monitors to fool with. I have also used this combo outside. Sound degradation occurs around 60 yards. I also use these in my studio. They are flat outstanding for vocals and acoustic guitar or keyboards. I believe that Bose has the price a little on the salty side, but all of their products are priced more expensively than they are worth. However, the quality is excellent.

Good deal for the money!

I'm part of a vocal ensemble (6 singers) and we bought two towers with two subwoofers. We use a CD player for accompaniment tracks and run the whole thing via a Yamaha mixer. The two towers give us the stereo effect we desire, and the quality of sound is incredible. We have use them indoors from small venues to a large gym, with no loss on sound quality. Even outdoors they can put out good sound levels. We always get good positive comments about our sound after each performance! The best part is the ease of set-up and transport. Our whole system fits in the back of a small pick-up truck, with plenty of space left for a couple of guitars!
