Very easy for a band to record and store music

Its been a year now since I bought this now and I have to say that it is totally awesome. I started recording with a Tascam audio tape four track and that was ok if your just interested in recording and keeping your ideas. But then the Boss-1600 came along and I was amazed lol.

So recording a six piece band is not easy...but this makes it easier for us to record and keep our music. It's just kinda tricky recording in one room and micing the drums lol. I am still learning and getting aqqauinted with recording methods such as scratch tracks and what not.

So I do recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quick and easy way to make CD's or keep your musical ideas.

Our band has one of these. If you know what you're doing - and thank God our guitarist does - you can work magic with this beast. The tools on the BR-1600CD cannot be beat. We are able to (relatively easily) assemble some incredibly professional-sounding demos. This recorder is not for the faint of heart, but if you have the patience to learn how to use it, and a little recording know-how, it's a great investment.

I would NOT recommend this machine for someone just getting started in home recording.

This is a valuable pice of equipment when you are doing sound for a band. The ease of recording and mixing on the fly is essential! The only thing I am waiting for is software to download the waves directally to pro tools.

I have recorded on one relentlessly for FOUR years with flawless performance. It is amazing what one person can do alone with this machine! What a value! I have been able to fulfill my recording dreams at home where I'm relaxed and not in a rush of studio time. The only way it could be better is if it had 24 tracks. If this one ever dies I will buy another one THAT DAY !!!

I haven't recorded alot on it yet, but If you know what you are doing you can make this sound perfect, if you don't you can make it sound awful. So basically it takes alot of practice. And for this instrument, there is no way out of reading the manual. It never get that awful background mic feedback that I know no one can stand. The only problem I did have is that you don't want to plug the amp head into the recorder and record it that way, the distortion gets pretty altered, but it turns out beautiful if you use a condenser mic right onto the speaker. Just make sure you have a PA or something to play back the recordings with.
