Had this microphone for over 9 years. Really good clean sound. I had a TLM 103 and can honestly say-this microphone sounded better going through an LA-610. I sold the TLM 103 and am going to purchase a AKG 414-don't know how it will compare to the E100. I really do love this mic for voice or guitar. I seen on review on MF that stated the user had a broken mic. Mine is very solid and our band has beat the heck out of it. I use it live and for recording. You won't regret buying this mic.

This is an amazingly transparent microphone, and is comparable in quality to other mics costing twice as much. CAD has figured out the whole "phantom power transient problem" by adding two rechargeable batteries that recharge through the phantom line, supplying extra amperage when needed for high current transients. You can also replace these with plain-ol' 9volt batteries. One caveat: if you do replace the batteries with non-rechargeable ones, DON'T APPLY PHANTOM POWER...it'll ruin the mic.

As far as having trouble removing the mic from the cord, all I can say is "read the manual". This is addressed, and it takes 1 second to remove the mic from the cable if you use the technique given in the manual.

Enjoy!

In a temperature controlled studio setting the mic started poping every few seconds and the factory wants $150 to fix it. I'm buying another mic for the $$.

I have used this mic for years. I own 20 mic's encluding 2 more condenser mic's. I use this mic to do lots of recording and it makes my acoustic guirad sound more natural than any other mic I have tried. Love it.

These mics used properly in the correct application are exceptional. The price is incredible to start off with. The mic stood up to every test I gave it and wiped the floor with many of its comparatively priced rivals.
