the mics sweet, the hardware could be better, but all things considered, i wont complain. as far as the threads being plastic, if you just twist it the wrong way until its level, then screw it in, it wont cross-thread and you wont damage anything. the condensers need power, but our board has phantom power, so not a problem. make sure you play with the angle to get exacly what you want, cuz these condensers can pick up A LOT if not positioned correctly. all in all, i'd say these are well worth the price.

I had a friend who uses these and the quality of them are great, for the price these are some of the best mics out there. For the buyer who said the condensers wouldnt work, they require a phantom power device to power them and if you don't have that, then you will get no sound, I have a feeling that was what was wrong.

For the money spent, you can't find a better drum mic kit than this. The mics sound terrific. I agree with several others about the plastic threads on the mounts. One of them was stripped before I even tried to screw a mic onto it. Also, the size of the tom/snare mics is so large that they get in the way for many drummers if mounted to the drums. I have resorted to using stands instead of the mounts and that works out well for me. Reader's Digest version: I love the mics and hate the mounts.

You can order "QUICK-LOC" mic stand euro thread adapters at $.99 each to solve the problem with the plastic ones that come with the mic package. The Quick-loc adapters are brass and work very well! I know, I bought this same set. I ordered the Quik-Loc adapters, and: PROBLEM CORRECTED! (They actually should replace the original plastic adapters from the manufacturer!!!

I am buying a second set of these mics for a theatre where I am the Technical Director. I own my own set already. For the dollar, these mics are absolutley the best and I really would put them up against any Shure, AKG, or Audix mics. I use this kit as a multi-use set of instrument mics for guitar amps (vocals in a pinch) choir mics and I get great results, no problem mounting these mics or stripping them out as other comments eluded to. I'm so satisfied that I've sold at least 4 sets of these after demo'ing them to others!
