It sounds great, super easy to use and I love the layout. I'd rate this one of cakewalk's best creations. I even use this over sonar which cost more. The only problem is it's not really compatible with the newer windows vista systems, just windows 2000 & xp. Other than that, it's great.

I have made my first CD production for romantic music in 2006 with this program. I will do it this year again. To reach great sound, just trust in ourself experience as musicians in combination with the auditive knowledge we have. Looking at the same time every features, provided by the program itself, by clicking them to get approximately the real sound that we are looking for. We get good sound with an economic program just using our own tricks and how to use them. We could evaluate every product we get, but, never comments in negative way about them. To get the best sound with this program just look the way in how to use it.

I just got my copy of guitar tracks and this thing is insane. I have tried multiple software programs from audacity to abeleton live. Hard disk recorders and tape. I use a black box direct into my sound card no need for an upgrade on your sound card I use just a cheap adapter plug. I get great sound and zero latency at all. Granted I don't use my amplitude in real time anyways. The sounds are album quality. It's very easy to use. It's set up like the fostex 16 track recorders. however you get a lot more. I play a lot of metal and trust me I wanted my recordings to sound professional. I wanted an album not a demo. This does it for you. But I do recommend a good mod pedal a line 6 pod or maudio black box it gives you real time modeling and a better preamp. The drum loops let you quickly put together real sounding backups and you even get fills and variations so it won't sound like a cheap drum machine. Invest now don't be fooled by anything else.

For the low price, you won't be disappointed. I use this everyday to jam (lots of effects, and the Amplitude LE is fun to use as well) and record riffs, etc. Once you get it setup you'll be stoked. I own an electric guitar, bass, and keyboard. In less than ten minutes I can have all my instruments (and microphones) set up and ready to record (now that I have all my settings). I've recorded some pretty good stuff with it. If you're new to recording and have a good computer, this is the way to go. Remember, you have to have a box (like the M-Audio or Toneport) to get your guitars and mics hooked up to your computer, and it helps to have good mics. One more thing: Always use a noisegate when recording so that all hum and background noise is not present. I can get crystal-clear recordings of guitar, bass, voice, etc. I use Fruity Loops for my drum tracks, since I don't own drums and wouldn't know how to mic them if I did. Finally, if you invest in a cheap mixing board, it will make it possible to record an entire band at once, if that's what you want. For ninety-nine bucks, it's worth it--and the MP3 fee isn't much. I paid it and can now make CDs in no time.
