Sonar Producer 7 is an awesome program, it sounds amazing. The learning curve is not much different than any other cakewalk program (home studio, older versions of producer). It has so many features. Once you get the basics down, you will be rolling in no time. If you are serious about recording, GET THIS SOFTWARE!

By far the most intuitive DAW with features that are simply not availabe on other platforms. The new step sequencer and other midi functions can't be touched by another program, period. Extremely stable, with easy routing possibities including sidechaining which is nice to have. I'm in school right now and have to use Protools there, but at home I use Sonar....in fact, I import my tracks back and forth between the two. Even compared to the "industry standard" Protools, I would take Sonar anyday.
