Big is still cool

The description that Cerwin Vega gives on its website is accurate and honest. I am on my 2nd pair of CV-12's now, my first pair being the famed LS-12's which I had for 3 yrs in the US. I now have the VE-12's which I have had for 12 months here in New Zealand.

My wife says they should go because big speakers are old fashioned and small is in! Yeh right I told her, as long as I am breathing the speakers stay. I followed this up with an explanation about them being so powerful that it meant not needing a subwoofer, then rounded off with a comparison on price against some of the so called Home Theatre in a box speaker systems that claim to put out 1000 Watts har har!! My receiver is an older Sony STR-DE845 that feeds the 2 VE-12's, 2 VE-5M's and VE-5C with a 100 Watts RMS per channel. I have blown away many disbelievers of these speakers capabilities by cranking up my Sony with a good movie like U-571 playing and watched with childlike glee as their jaws dropped to the floor.

Sure they are not the most high fashion and stylish items to grace a Contemporary/Modern apartment, but who cares, they rock and I'm keeping em'
