I like to gamble on budget items and see what may come of them. This was a gamble that payed off. The units effect is only a simple chase to the music. I added these to my lights because i wanted to have a light that didn't move or spin like the others in my collection.

Pros: Low cost, lightweight, small. Good light fill to for small area like bar or wedding dance floor.

Cons: So far the only issue is the mounting holes are a bit large and had to use washes on my tree to ensure good fit.

Other Thoughts: I read where others say it chases too fast or that it doesn't go with the beat. I would have to agree that it doesn't go with the beat but it does go with the music really well (that's hard to explain). Parts in songs that mellow then build it will slow and build speed with the song (Like about 2.5 min into thong song). I think it is very clever in the way it responds to the music rather than on a heavy beat.

I have used this light for gigs, parties and everything in between and it is a total hit. The light can stay on for hours without burning out and the sound activated feature really works. It is probably the best buy for any dj, band or party host of any product of kind on the market.

We purchased 2 of these for our regular karaoke gig and our mobile DJ systems, and they were well worth the investment. Both bars arrived with broken lights, be prepared for that eventuality and order some extra bulbs for spares. Both are holding up well other than that, with one being carted around a lot/dropped/moved/shoved in a corner, and their price point is a big added value ... well-made enough to hold up under abuse, but priced low enough that if you do manage to kill one, it's a sustainable loss. My only gripe is that there's no on/off switch, which would have been nice. The sound-sensitivity is adjustable, so it can be set to be as active as you want it. Overall, a good investment; we plan on purchasing another two soon.

We originally bought three of these hoping that they would be enough to light up our four piece band. However, since only one bulb lights at a time we also added two 8 bulb light banks for each side of the stage, and put these in the front. They work great. As others have commented, a switch would be very useful, but also a way to daisy chain would be very helpful. But, for the price you cant beat them.

When I had ordered the color bank, I received it with a broken bulb. Good thing I had ordered an extra one. Just in case, I would recommend purchasing extra bulbs. I hooked it up, and adjusted the sensitivity. It works great, I just wish it had an off and on switch, so I wouldn't have to unplug it so often. I use this product for my DJ gigs. It works great sitting in the front of my table. Overall, this is a great product. I would defidently buy another one soon.
