The Crown XLS 202D Power Amplifier is designed to provide the quality, power, and reliability you expect from Crown. It boasts many of the same controls and features as other Crown amps for a much friendlier price. 330W/ch @ 2 ohms, 300W/ch @ 4 ohms, 200W/ch @ 8 ohms, 660W bridged mono @ 4 ohms, 600W bridged mono @ 8 ohms.

The Crown XLS power amp boasts sophisticated protection circuitry (from shorted, open, or mismatched loads, input and high frequency overloads), 5-way fault indicator, red LED on each channel that turns on when distortion becomes audible, green signal-present LED that flashes when the level is extremely low (indicating cabling problems), and detented level controls. Mode select switch for stereo or bridged; 3-speed fan; and XLR inputs and Speakon or binding post outputs; all in a rugged steel chassis designed to handle serious road use.

We use this amp to power monitors for a 50 voice traveling youth choir. This amp gives us all we need and more. With only xlr, neutrik and banana clip in/outs it can make multiple setup/teardowns in a short period a little bit of a pain, but on the whole it was a much more quality amp than others out there at the same price.

Used Crown power off and on for years. When I needed to power a pair of Yamaha BR series monitors in my rehearsal studio, I knew one these in "bridged" mode would do the trick and provide the reliability I demand. Can't miss. Stick with brands you know, Crown, Shure, Yamaha, DBX. They are well known for a reason.

I bought this XLS202D from Musicians Friend to replace a Crown DC300-A series II from 1982 that burnt up on me and killed both of my Cerwin-Vega woofers in my E-312's.

This new amp only took up 2 rack spaces instead of 4, is half the weight, is more power efficient, and runs nice and cool all day long. I don't think I can hurt it !

It is mounted in a rack and I have a tube pre-amp in front of it and is part of my home stereo system.

The only thing and this is the only thing... It's not made in the states like my old Crown... That bummed me out. But with the warranty and all, I should be okay :)

I've been using this amp for several months to power some big DJ/PA speakers and it rocks the house. One complaint is the fan cooling which is a little noisy during VERY quite music, when you are close to it. Once warmed up, about an hour, it sounds better and better. Wish I could leave it on all the time.
