Relay play, Program Relay Play, and Random Relay Play are possible when 2 DN-S5000 units are connected together.

For the serious CD DJ

This is way superior to the CDJ MKII's. Tons of features and many of the effects serve a doube purpose when combined with matrix mixing found on denon mixers (miror mix for example can be employed as an echo or a beat juggle effect). Amazing sampler, can play a samply and the main track simultaneously. Not as durable as the Pioneers in my opion but in every other way this is the top CD deck. The only reason it is not used in every club is that Pioneer has become the industry standard interface. I see denon decks way more than any other brand at raves in my area. They allow so much artistic expression to be integrated into your set, it brings CD DJing on par with turntables.

Very impressive. Takes A LOT of getting used too. So many features. Most buttons have multiple functions. Though, in time, with a lot of practice, this player can prove to be one of the best in the market. I recommend that the owner of this product, babies it. It is a belt drive. Its unlikely to give you issues, but much abuse can hurt the belt.

Best all around DJ decks

These are the best CD decks out there. Much more features for the money than any of pioneers offerings. The interface will take some time to get used to but once you become proficient the creative possibilities are amazing. The scratch platter is not as good as the 3500's but the firmware for this model is much more mature. Alpha track is a cool feature but more or less crippled in its funtionality due to lack of a seperate pitch fader and no way to display both tracks BPM's simultaneously. The second outputs are however great because they also do double duty by outputing the sampler audio. I am disapointed in denons choice of RCA digital outs, I would have prefered spdif or preferable the option of both. These decks really shine when you pair them with a 4 chanel mixer. Dont think you need a top end 12 inch battle style 4 ch though, in most respects a 19 inch rack style mixer is a better for these decks.

Denon taking over the DJ industry

The DN-S5 is by far the best digital audio unit on the market. I've already used the Pio's, CDX and the SLDZ and I personally recommend the DN-S5's to all DJ's whether you're already a pro or just getting started. This product is definately worth the $$$ for it's quality and the reliability behind the DENON name.
