These things will take a beating. I spin mostly breaks. The pitch control has been great. I have had to use my Denon DN-S5000 cd mixer to do this in the past. They are in and out of my vehicle constantly. i have been a solid technics fan for a long time. I think you have a new customer

It took a couple dozen hours of archiving vinyl before I realized that this is a pretty reliable turntable. Though it was fairly difficult mounting the Stanton Cartridge I had purchased apart from the unit. It took two days of constant use to get the headshell to hold the cartridge without letting the cartridge slip out of position. The pitch control feature, (speeding or slowing the time, but keeping the same key or pitch) being a fantastic idea, sounds like the entire spectrum of sound is being processed through something like a shoebox, adding a strange doubling effect, rendering it totally useless for true reproduction of sound. It does have an extremely effective preamp built-in. Man is it LOUD! Overall, considering what some turntables are costing these days, it's not a bad investment. Just don't expect to use the pitch/speed "effect" control to any degree of effectiveness. It just doesn't sound real enough for me.
