Harmonica Pedal

For the price of two pedals, you can program up to 40. Takes a week to play and learn what everything does. But if you are serious, this is not an issue. I love the large display so that you don't have to deal with a 2" screen and remember what does what. You can fly through the settings to the pedal you programmed. You can eliminate the bumping of the harmonica on the mic using a noise gate and you can center the frequency on the harmonica. Guitar pedals are designed for guitars, but this allows you to custom the effects for a harmonica.

You can program up to 40 pedals. Wish I had this years ago. For a harp player, this is a significant "must have" piece of gear. If you have to play in a setting without an amp, you will want this to replace what a tube amp would naturaly give you.

A Total Disaster

I owned one of these for a while and hoped that it would make for improved live vocals. NO matter how we tried it, it was a total feedback and noise monster. I guess you could use it for recording, but most software has built-in effects that are better than these.

My friend came up from California saying "I got you a present." when he got into town, I met up with him and he showed it to me. I was astounded. When I finally heard all the different effects I was amazed! I love digitech! this has just what I need for my one man band!

Not really a toy

If you take the time and set up your vocals correctly it is a great tool. The doubler gives you backing vocals and with two singers, one a third above and one a fifth or fourth below it sounds choral like. It is your voice though so it will sound like you singing harmony with yourself. Its a very good vocal effects processor. It fattens and increases the depth and tone of your voice in a live setting. You really have to sit down with it though and it hard to do when you are singing and adjusting. Finding the tone just takes some time but its in there.

Great unit. One of a kind. I only wish they made it with a better preamp or no preamp at all. Most sound guys freak out when they see these things at a live show. Rightfully so considering most novice users just blast the presets and all hell breaks loose. If you have experience with digital effects units and you spend quality time creating custom settings that have stage friendly parameters, then you are good to go. I use it for everything from vocal/delay to Ween-like creepiness. I have been using the same unit for several years. It's been to about 800 shows with me. Very durable. There are no other Vocal effecs pedals that come even close to the versatility that these have. I wish there was more competitio in themarket so I could have something to compare it to.
