Amazing Right Out of the Box

This is the first review I've felt compelled to write - the Vocalist Live 3 is amazing right out of the box. With no setup at all, the harmonies and voicings were great. I'm still playing with all the features, but if you're a guitarist who sings, this is a great device to have. It allows for a wide range of both gutiar and vocal effects in the same unit. I played a Breedlove acoustic/electric and a Sure SM58 mic through it, and ran it into a Fender Acoustasonic amp, with great results. One thing to note: it uses stereo XLR outputs, so if you're running it into a mixer, no problem - you'll just need to use two of the mixer's inputs. However, if you're running it into an acoustic amp or anything else with only one mic input, you'll want to run it into a small mic mixer first, and then into the amp. The Samson S-Combine works well (which is passive and requires no power source), as would the ArtCessories ProMix (which is powered). I researched all the major harmonizers on the market, and this new model is a great combination of features and price-point, and the pedal-based functionality gives it a familiar feel for guitarists. You'll be amazed when you hear yourself with pitch-corrected, multi-part harmonies blending seamlessly with your voice!
