I Never Even Got To Turn It On..

I Bought This Thinking It Would Work With My 1 Month Old Fast As Lighting Computer. Wrong, Not Vista Compatible. Ok So I Go To Digidesign There No Help They Say To Install XP Or Buy An Upgraded Version Of Pro Tools.. Either Way I'm Spending Money. But Since I Installed The Old Version All It Says When I Try To Remove It, Uninstall It Is Cannot Uninstall, Change, Etc.. Without XP So Read Up On The EXACT SPECS If You Plan On Buying This, I Also Fried My OS Trying To Add A Dual Boot For XP And Vista..

This unit is AWESOME!!! Its got great features, including the option of expanding the inputs from 8 to 18 via ADAT and S/PDIF! The only thing that are not very satisfying are the 4 stock Focusrite pres that come built into this. The sound is decent through them, but they cannot handle loudness very well because they have to pad switch, which is hard to manage while doing drum tracks. Customer service through Digidesign/avid is great, and will help with everything, and they speak fluent english! The factory bundle is well worth the extra cash, becuase the normal plugins that come without the bundle kinda suck with a few exceptions. No problems otherwise, just get some great preamps to fuel this sucker and it will scream!

This is such a high standard product, especially with the extra software. I have the 002R, with factory plug-ins, and the music production toolkit, which just about gives you EVERYTHING you will need internally for producing music. But be warned: If your computer is not up to date, or if you have never used pro tools THERE WILL BE A LEARNING CURVE.
