if you want your drumms to to be a REAL drummer playing them. This is as close as you can get. maybe even better. sure everything has its things about it that could be better. but overall - it is great. make sure you have plenty of RAM and a good fast decently powerful computer. If you are seriious about music you should have this anyway. strike is a great product. take the time to learn to use it and it is great!

I use this with my bass player to record original songs with Pro Tools. The range of control is utterly sick. The control of timbre, tone on each drum (including effects, production, etc.) is simply amazing. I cannot believe how easy it to alter and reconfigure presets and program fills and beats. The quality of sounds and ease of programming are the most realisitc and user friendly I've ever used. This is a must have if you're drummer-less.
