I was always skeptical on buying a wireless system as I hear many horror stories of them cutting out, tone loss, etc. I shopped around for a few weeks and came across the DR-3500. I bought it a little over a year ago and cannot say one bad thing about it. I have never had any tone loss, signal failure, or anything. It's easy to use and very handy for gigging/playing around the house. I can play my guitar upstairs, downstairs, and across the street (seriously, I've tried it) if need be. Get rid of the cord dependence! Sure, it's up there in price but you'll end up spending more money if you buy a cheaper one. Rule of thumb for buying wireless: NEVER BUY ANYTHING UNDER $250.

After trying Sure, Senheiser and EV systems I was frustrated by the lack of alternative choices without spending 1000's of dollars on a amplified system. A friend recommended I try this - I laughed at at him! I play 6 nights a week in Vegas and this system is FANTASTIC. Never drops out, never fails, sounds just as good as a cord (once you balance the gain settings). My only gripe is I have gone through several of the pre moulded cords but at 15 bucks every 6 months I can handle that. If you are looking for a great wireless at ANY price - BUY THIS ONE!!

I had originally purchased a Sennheiser EW172 Wireless system. It was a great unit for about a month (maybe two dozen shows).
That unit died, so I sent it to a repair shop that shipped it off to Germany to get repaired; during that time, I picked up an identical unit off eBay, it died within a half dozen uses.
I then picked up the Digital Reference DR-3500 and I have used it for dozens and dozens of shows and it has never failed me. I like that it uses AA batteries, thus I use rechargeable batteries.
I thought Sennheiser was the best, but in my experience, this unit has outperformed TWO Sennheiser units that were almost twice the price.
I would have given the unit 5 stars for all categories if it had only had an XLR output on it...

This is great for the value. If you're looking for a good wireless syastem, then I recommend the DR-3500. I have't experienced any problems with it yet. Just know that always buying batteries for the transmitter will get annoying.

Same as Audio-Technica ATW-2110 2000

Just a quick note, this Digital Reference DR-3500 is the exact same piece of equipment as the Audio-Technica ATW-2110 2000, item # 276530. I discovered this while product comparing in my research before buying a wireless system. The support tech in live chat confirms this is the same product with a different brand name. I've decided to get the much better German-made Sennheiser EW 172 G2, which has a metal case (both receiver and transmitter), and gets much higher reviews, even if it does cost a bit more. This product, however, would be an option to seriously consider if price was an extremely limiting factor, and durability wasn't as important to me.
