I bought 2 of these in a pack a while ago. They aren't fantastic, but they were very cheap in the package and I didn't have much money to spend. They got the job done with pretty good quality. I used them mostly for recording my guitar cab, acoustic guitar, snare, overheads and occasionally bass drum when I couldn't get a better mic. But within a year they both broke.

Overall it's alright.

I bought these in the 2-pack for a great price. I had a vintage SM57, but only one, and I wanted a matched stereo pair of dynamic intrument mics. Sometimes you want to go old school and lose the sizzle that you would get from small diaphragm condensers.

I must admit that I was neither impressed nor surprised -- but that's because I have bought DR mics before and know them to be excellent quality. In case you didn't know, DR is the budget line of the respected mic maker Audio-Technica, the way Epiphone is to Gibson. I may not have the greatest ears in the world, but I A/B'd this with my SM57 and couldn't hear much difference. The mics are quiet and have a nice presence, with the smooth rolloff on the high end that you would expect in a dynamic mic. The case is metal and rugged and the mic feels solid in your hand. The windscreen is excellent, better than a 57 I think.

I have not hesitated to use this mic for guitar amps, snares, drum overheads, acoustic instruments, field recording, or down-and-dirty vocals, and neither should you. If you already own more than two mics, you can't afford not to have a pair of these. Even if they're not your go-to mic, they're incredibly useful and versatile as backups.

I bought this mic in addition to my behringer mixer, im on a budget and i wanted something to record rough tracks and ideas on drums, and it works beautifully. It picks up very clear, you just have to set it just right. Its also not bad for miking guitar amps as well. Acoustic guitars and banjos are crystal clear, i love this mic. If your on a budget and want something decent to mic drums, guitars, etc, buy this. it will save you alot.

I bought two of this mics to try on my toms during recording, and I got what I paid for. They sound decent for the price, but many mics sound better for just a little more money. I compared it to my SM57 just to compare the two, and the SM57 (not suprisingly) sounded better, it was fuller and more responsive. I also tried it on acoustic and it didn't sound all that good. I still use my MXL 990 for acoustic because it can sound pretty bright and captures sound very accuratley. (The MXL 990 is a great mic for the price, I would recommend it to anyone). But for this cheap, it isn't a bad addition to your arsenal of mics. They are also pretty sturdy, I've dropped one of them on my carpeted floor and nothing happened ot it.

A Bargain at Twice The Price!

I grabbed a three-pack sale on these, mostly because I needed some instrument mics fast, and I was pretty tight on cash. I specifically wanted them for things like fiddles, mandolins, guitars and banjos.

I've just used them live for both fiddle and mandolin, and wow, did they ever sound sweet. The sound of the fiddle was especially natural, and the player was able to "work" the mic easily and give a very expressive performance.
